Core Story: The Core's newest outdoor gem
Sisson Street Park is one of the newest in The Core. It all started around 2015 when the neighborhood association GRIA obtained a Baltimore City Housing Department adopt_a_lot license. They got help from @n_d_c (Neighborhood Design Center) and @hordcoplanmacht on the design. Aided by a Spruce Up grant from the Central Baltimore Partnership (the same fantastic benefactors who sponsor this Instagram page) for $13,000, the ball started rolling quickly. The park now has garden beds, picnic tables, an outdoor stage, playground, and—thank to BOPA (Baltimore Office of Promotion) funding, a beautiful (recent mural) from Greg Gannon and Carol P. Jarvis. Nonetheless it's still a work in progress, and seems to look better each time we drop by. Hat's off to GRIA!
